Mumbai Port Authority Hosts Seychelles Parliamentary Delegation at Mumbai International Cruise Terminal

Mumbai Port Authority hosted a Parliamentary Delegation from Seychelles at the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal today as part of the delegation’s official visit to Mumbai under the bilateral parliamentary exchange programme.

The delegation was led by Hon’ble Azarel Ernesta, Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles. The visiting delegation was received by Shri Adesh Titarmare, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, along with senior officials of the Port.

The delegation was briefed about the facilities and operations of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal, including passenger arrival and departure processes. Officials also provided an overview of Mumbai Port’s cruise infrastructure and its role in promoting cruise tourism, passenger movement and maritime connectivity along India’s western coast.

During the interaction, Shri Adesh Titarmare briefed the delegation about the proposed Mumbai Marina Project and its potential to promote marine tourism, sailing, yacht infrastructure, harbour-linked services and public-facing waterfront development in Mumbai.

The delegation also showed keen interest in the sustainability measures and environmental initiatives undertaken by Mumbai Port Authority. Officials highlighted the Port’s efforts towards cleaner operations, responsible harbour development and improved passenger infrastructure.

The Mumbai International Cruise Terminal is an important passenger infrastructure facility developed by Mumbai Port Authority. It supports modern cruise operations and forms part of the Port’s broader efforts to strengthen cruise tourism, harbour services and passenger facilities.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase Mumbai’s modern maritime infrastructure and share India’s experience in developing passenger and cruise facilities with an international parliamentary delegation.

The delegation also interacted with officials of Mumbai Port Authority and appreciated the facilities and initiatives undertaken at the terminal. Mementoes and shawls were presented to the members of the visiting delegation by Shri Adesh Titarmare.

Mumbai Port Authority remains committed to strengthening India’s maritime engagements and promoting Mumbai as an important destination for cruise tourism and maritime activities. The Port continues to work towards developing modern, sustainable and passenger-friendly infrastructure while supporting India’s growing maritime and tourism sectors.
