Access to quality higher education can play an important role in helping students pursue their aspirations and build better opportunities for the future. However, for students from families with limited incomes, financial difficulties can become a major challenge in meeting tuition and living expenses.

Demonstrating how scholarship assistance can help students overcome economic barriers, Prince Yadav, a 19-year-old student belonging to the Other Backward Class (OBC) category, is pursuing his B.Tech education at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal.

Coming from a family whose primary source of income is agriculture, he faced significant financial difficulties in meeting the costs of tuition and living expenses in Bhopal. Despite these challenges, Prince remained determined to become a successful engineer and contribute to technological advancements that can help make India self-reliant in technology, while also improving his family's financial situation.

In 2025-26, financial assistance of ₹1,15,400 was provided to Prince under the PM YASASVI Scholarship. The support helped meet his tuition and hostel-related expenses, significantly reducing the financial burden on his family. It also enabled him to continue his higher education without the pressure of taking an educational loan and allowed him to focus more fully on his academic pursuits.

 

With the financial burden related to his education reduced, Prince is currently pursuing his B.Tech. degree at MANIT Bhopal with greater confidence. He is maintaining a good CGPA and actively participating in technical clubs on campus. The scholarship support has helped him concentrate on his studies and continue working towards his aspirations in engineering and technology.

Expressing his contentment over the Ministry’s financial support, Prince Yadav said,

“The PM YASASVI Scholarship was a turning point in my academic journey. It completely removed the financial burden of my tuition and hostel fees, allowing me to focus entirely on my studies rather than worrying about educational loans. Currently, I am successfully pursuing my degree at MANIT Bhopal, maintaining a good CGPA, and actively participating in technical clubs on campus.” 

Prince's story highlights how timely scholarship assistance can provide meaningful support to students facing financial constraints. By reducing the pressure of educational expenses, PM YASASVI has enabled him to continue his higher education and pursue his aspiration of becoming a successful engineer, contributing to India's technological progress and supporting his family financially.
