Higher education has the power to transform lives, but for many talented students from economically disadvantaged families, financial constraints often become the greatest obstacle to pursuing their dreams. One such inspiring example is Ms. Divya Darade, a 25-year-old student belonging to the OBC (NT-D) community from Maharashtra, whose determination to pursue higher education was strengthened through the PM-YASASVI Scheme for Top Class Education for OBC, EBC and DNT Students under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

From an early age, Divya demonstrated academic excellence and remained committed to building a successful professional career. Her aspiration was to pursue an MBA from a premier institution and create a better future for herself and her family. However, coming from a family with a low annual income, the high cost of quality management education presented a significant challenge. The substantial tuition fees and other educational expenses made it extremely difficult for her family to support her higher education.

Recognising her academic potential, the financial assistance was extended under PM-YASASVI Scheme that enabled her to continue her studies without financial hardship. Under the scheme, Divya received scholarship assistance amounting to 7,85,000 in March 2025 and 7,66,000 in January 2026, taking the total financial support to 15,51,000 during the period 2024–2026. The scholarship covered major educational expenses, allowing her to pursue quality education with complete focus and confidence.

Top Class Education Scholarship

The financial assistance enabled Divya to complete her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a premier institution without the burden of financial uncertainty. The scholarship ensured uninterrupted access to quality education, allowing her to devote her full attention to academics and successfully fulfil her long-standing educational aspirations.

Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Divya Darade said:

"The scholarship enabled me to focus entirely on my studies without the burden of financial worries. With the scholarship support, I was able to complete my MBA from a premier institution, fulfilling my long-standing educational aspirations."

Divya's journey demonstrates how targeted educational support can empower deserving students from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds to realise their full potential.

The PM-YASASVI Scheme continues to ensure that financial limitations do not become barriers to higher education, enabling talented students from OBC, Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) to access quality education, achieve academic excellence, and contribute meaningfully to the nation's growth through knowledge, skills and professional success.
