IMPLEMENTATION OF PM-ONOS SCHEME

प्रविष्टि तिथि: 27 JUL 2026 7:02PM by PIB Delhi

The One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) Scheme provides access to over 13,000 journals from 32 publishers to all eligible institutions. These journals cover a wide range of disciplines, including science, technology, medicine, arts and humanities. State wise details on the higher education institutions (HEIs) and research and development (R&D) institutions covered under ONOS are provided in Annexure I. A specific list of HEIs and R&D institutions in Andhra Pradesh covered under the scheme is given in Annexure II. Further updates about the scheme can be accessed through the official website: https://www.onos.gov.in/.

The ONOS Scheme, launched in January 2025, has seen significant adoption in Andhra Pradesh. To date, around 3.11 lakh students and 6,974 faculty members across the state have accessed journals through ONOS.

There are currently 68 eligible institutions in Andhra Pradesh that have not yet been onboarded under the ONOS Scheme. The district-wise details of these institutions are provided in Annexure III.

The Government of India, through Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET), has undertaken several initiatives to promote awareness and enhance the utilisation of the Scheme across India, including tier-2 and tier-3 cities of Andhra Pradesh. These include conducting special lectures and organising webinars with nodal officers at the institutional level. Programmes such as ONOS college administrator sessions on journal access and Article Processing Charges (APC) webinars and ONOS user awareness programmes, conducted by publishers, have also been held to strengthen user engagement. Offline lectures on ONOS user awareness have been delivered under INFLIBNET initiatives in collaboration with universities to reach institutions with limited digital access. To provide ongoing support, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are regularly uploaded to address queries and ensure smoother adoption of the scheme.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
