Nagpur, June 27, 2026:

To commemorate International MSME Day, observed annually on June 27, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Nagpur Regional Office, organised a Vidarbha Specific Training for Empowering MSMEs (VSTEM) programme at Bhandara on 25th June 2026.

The workshop, themed "Building Resilience through Skill Development, Market Access, and Prudent Financial Management," witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 180 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs from the district.

The programme was graced by Shri Sachin Y. Shende, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur; Ms. Anjana Shyamnath, Deputy General Manager, Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD), RBI, Nagpur; Shri Arup Patra, Deputy General Manager, Bank of India; and officials from the District Industries Centre, Bhandara, and NABARD. Representatives from major banks in the region also participated actively and set up stalls to showcase MSME lending products. Entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) displayed a range of unique products from the district through exhibition stalls.

Addressing the participants, Shri Sachin Y. Shende highlighted the importance of capacity building, formalisation of enterprises, and greater integration of entrepreneurs into the formal financial ecosystem through improved access to finance and skill development initiatives. He encouraged participants to actively engage in the deliberations, seek clarifications on issues of concern, and utilise the programme to gain deeper insights into the various institutional support mechanisms available for enterprise growth.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Anjana Shyamnath, Deputy General Manager, RBI, illustrated through real-life examples the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving economic growth, employment generation, and entrepreneurship development at the district level. She noted that the VSTEM programme had been conceptualised by the RBI, Nagpur Regional Office, to address region-specific opportunities and challenges while fostering greater collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen the MSME ecosystem.

The participants were provided valuable insights into RBI initiatives for strengthening the MSME sector, various Government schemes, marketing avenues, access to institutional credit, and export opportunities. The workshop concluded with interactive discussions and guidance sessions, and was widely appreciated by the participants.
