Telecom Outreach Programme organized by Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts, Maharashtra & Goa at Aurangabad

The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Maharashtra & Goa, under the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, organized a Telecom Outreach Programme (TOP) at its Aurangabad Regional Office today. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Satish Chandra Jha, Controller of Communication Accounts, Maharashtra & Goa, along with the Revenue Team of the office.

The outreach programme was organized with the objective of enhancing awareness among telecom licensees regarding the regulatory and financial provisions of the License Agreement and strengthening engagement with both existing and newly inducted licensees in the telecom sector.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Satish Chandra Jha emphasized that such programmes play a vital role in promoting transparency, compliance and effective communication between the Department of Telecommunications and telecom licensees. He highlighted the roles and responsibilities of licensees and encouraged them to actively engage with the department for timely resolution of issues and compliance-related matters.

During the programme, detailed presentations were delivered by the Revenue Team covering various aspects of the License Agreement, including financial conditions, License Fee payment mechanisms, assessment dues, Bank Guarantee requirements, and the SARAS platform. The participants were also briefed on grievance redressal mechanisms and other facilitative measures available to licensees.

A key feature of the event was the interactive one-to-one discussion session with telecom licensees, which provided an opportunity to address queries, discuss operational challenges, and clarify regulatory requirements. The session contributed to strengthening collaboration between the department and the telecom industry.

Dr. Satish Chandra Jha highlighted that Maharashtra & Goa circle is the 2nd largest circle in the country in terms of License Fee & Spectrum uses charges collection and  has made a significant contribution towards the collection of Non-Tax Revenue, with cumulative collections amounting to approximately ₹2,380 crores during 2025-26 . He noted that the Circle continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring effective revenue realization and regulatory compliance within the telecom sector.

The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts, Maharashtra & Goa, remains committed to supporting all telecom licensees, particularly new entrants, and to fostering a transparent, efficient, and growth-oriented telecom ecosystem.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Sumit Awasthi, Accounts Officer and a reaffirmation of the department's commitment to stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
