Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students (PMS-SC) is an open-ended and a demand driven scheme in which all the eligible applicants (as per the scheme guidelines) whose applications are finally verified by the States/UTs and sent to Central Portal after paying the 40% State share (10% in case of NE States). The details of number of beneficiaries given the Central Share of scholarship during the year 2022-23 is attached at Annexure.

Budget Estimate (BE) under the Post Matric Scholarship scheme for SC Students during 2022-23 was Rs. 5660 Cr., out of which, Rs 4392.50 Cr has been utilized.

The Government of India is implementing the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students on DBT mode w.e.f 2021-22 wherein the Central Share of Scholarship is released directly into the bank account of beneficiary. W.e.f 2022-23, the Central Share is released directly into the Aadhaar seeded bank account of the beneficiary.

The applications are processed for the Central Share of Scholarship once the applications are finally verified by the States/UTs and sent to Central Portal after paying the 40% State share (10% in case of NE States).
