Central Government’s Multimedia Exhibition and Special publicity campaign held at Shrirampur in the backdrop of International Yoga Day and International Year of Millets 2023

Central Bureau of Communication, Ahmednagar under Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Indian Red Cross Society Shrirampur and various offices of the State Government, along with the Srirampur Municipal Council, have jointly organized a multimedia exhibition and special publicity campaign at Lokmanya Tilak Library and Reading Hall in Shrirampur during 19 to 21 June, 2023. This exhibition will remain open for public from 9 am to 8 pm.

At the initiative of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, United Nations declared to celebrate June 21 as International Yoga Day and the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets.

Practicing Yoga regularly is necessary for a healthy life and information about the importance of yoga practice, various yogasanas and the benefits of these asanas as well as the importance of nutritious cereals in the diet, the delicious foods prepared from these grains and the nutritional qualities of these grains to protect us from various diseases will be imparted through this multimedia exhibition.

These millets includes 10 food grains like sorghum, bajri, ragi , rala, varai, kodo, kutki, sava, kuttu and amaranth. These millets are also called superfoods and Shri Anna.

A number of activities, including essay competition, painting and rangoli competition will be held as part of this initiative on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21, 2023.

The three day multimedia exhibition will be inaugurated on June 19, 2023 at 11 am. Briefing about the inauguration ceremony, Regional Publicity Officer Madhav Jaybhaye and Assistant Publicity Officer P. Kumar said that MP Sadashiv Lokhande, MLA Lahu Kanade, Managing Council Member of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha Meenatai Jagdhane, Sub Divisional Officer Kiran Sawant, Additional Superintendent of Police Swachi Bhor, Tehsildar Waghchoure, Block Development Officer Pravin Shinare, Taluka Agriculture Officer Ashok Sali, Information Officer Suresh Patil, Self Help Group Head Gaikwad, Indian Red Cross Chairman and Principal Sunil Salve, social activist Arun Naik and other dignitaries will be present for the inauguration of this exhibition. Union Government has appealed citizens to avail the benefits of this program.
