PM inaugurates 91 FM Transmitters to enhance radio connectivity in the country

FM transmitters at Achalpur, Aheri, Hingoli, Nandurbar, Satana, Sironcha and Washim inaugurated in Maharashtra in presence of MPs and other dignitaries.

Public representatives express happiness for bringing remote and backward regions of the state in the development process

A new chapter of connectivity has opened in the lives of the people staying in the remote and backward areas of Achalpur, Aheri, Hingoli, Nandurbar, Satana, Sironcha and Washim in Maharashtra today. This is because of the countrywide inauguration of 91 FM transmitters by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The enhanced radio connectivity will focus on improving the coverage in aspirational districts and border areas. Hingoli, Washim and Nandurbar districts in Maharashtra have been declared as the aspirational districts, whereas Aheri and Sironcha are right-wing extremism affected tehsils in Gadchiroli district. Satana is a tribal tehsil in Nashik bordering Gujrat.

Rajya Sabha MP Anil Bonde was present on the occasion of inauguration of FM relay centre at Achalpur in Amravati district today. He said that there was a feeling that radio will remain behind with the penetration of internet, but All India Radio is strongly marching ahead under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While thanking PM Narendra Modi and I&B Minister Anurag Thakur, he said that the FM transmitters will also disseminate important information in the remote parts of Melghat.

Gadchiroli MP Ashok Nete virtually attended the ceremony of FM transmitter inauguration at Aheri in Gadchiroli District, in the presence of local public representatives and other dignitaries.  Ashok Nete thanked PM Narendra Modi for providing FM relay transmitters at the two remote tehsils of Aheri and Sironcha. He said that people of these areas will be able to listen to the development oriented programmes aired on the radio on their radio sets as well as through their mobile phone devices, without any antenna due to the 35 Km coverage range of these FM centres.

FM relay transmitter at Hingoli was inaugurated in the presence of Hingoli MP Hemant Patil. Speaking on the occasion, Hemant Patil expressed confidence that an independent transmission system will be developed in this area providing a platform to display the cultural talent of local tribals and banjara community. He said that the local people will be able to listen to the programmes of Vividh Bharati and Asmita and the FM relay centre will be converted into a local radio station to provide the platform to the local artistes in this area.

Maharashtra Tribal Development Minister Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit and MP Hina Gavit participated in the program from Nandurbar. Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit said that this will boost the agriculture sector and also provide the service to the students, youth, industrialists and other segments of the society. He also thanked PM Narendra Modi. MP Hina Gavit said that she had persuaded for this radio station and her dream has been fulfilled today.

The inauguration of FM transmitter at Satana in Nashik district took place in the presence of MLA Dilip Manglu Borase from Baglan constituency. While underlining the importance of this transmitter, he said that the station will not only serve as the medium of entertainment but also disseminate important information about public education, social awareness, agriculture, industry and bring changes in the life of the local people.

Yavatmal- Washim  MP Bhavna Gavali participated in the inauguration of FM transmitter in the premises of low power broadcast station of Doordarshan in Washim. Speaking on the occasion, she said that it is a gift to Washim district which falls under the list of aspirational districts getting priority for the development projects in the country. She said that initially the people in the range of 12 Km will be able to listen to the radio programs.
