Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil visits Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav

Mumbai : 14 February 2023

Fort in Mumbai is known to house offices and commercial spaces. However, between the 11th and 19th of February 2023, the Azad Maidan in Fort will don a vibrant look as it is all set to host the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2023. After a stunning inauguration ceremony, the Mahotsav is now open free of cost to one and all.

The Guest of Honour at the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2023 on day three i.e 13th February 2023 was Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Shri. Kapil Moreshwar Patil. Addressing the visitors and the media at Azad Maidan he said, “Our country is united and great because of our cultural traditions. Usually connoisseurs of art and culture go in search of it. But the Culture Ministry has bought art and culture to the connoisseur. The art forms from across the country have found space on Azad Maidan and our country’s culture has truly become Azad (free).”

Shri Kapil Patil took a tour of the entire Mahotsav and also enjoyed the cultural performances day three had to offer.

The performances for today’s evening include melodies by renowned singer Anand Bhate. He will take stage to perform Marathi Abhangas, which are a unique blend of classical and devotional music. With his powerful voice and mesmerizing stage presence, Anand Bhate is sure to leave a lasting impression on the audience.

The evening will continue with an unforgettable performance by the legendary Annu Kapoor. Known for his soulful voice and innovative style, Annu Kapoor will be bringing alive the essence of Indian folk and cinematic music.

In addition to the musical performances, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in exhibitions that highlight the traditional arts, crafts, and cuisines of India. The exhibitions will showcase the works of artists, craftsmen, and artisans from across the country, giving visitors a chance to appreciate the rich heritage of India.
