General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, Chief of Defence Staff, visited Defence Sub Systems Manufacturing Plant at Nibe Limited in Chakan, Pune on 07 Feb 23. The CDS attended the MSME Nibe Def-Expo 2023 showcasing selected Defence products & MSME product displays & inaugurated a new manufacturing plant “Nibe 3” for defence & aerospace equipment. Nibe Defence Limited, a BSE listed company, has a Defence Sub Systems Manufacturing Plant at Chakan, Pune & manufactures wide spectrum of equipment catering to the Defence Industry, supporting fabrication of various indigenous weapon systems including machining & manufacturing of Electric vehicles as well.

Pushing for complete self reliance in the defence sector and further encouraging the MSME sector, CDS in his interaction emphasised that the path to “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and achievement of self reliance in defence, research & development and manufacturing of weapons was essential for the implementation of complete self reliance in the defence sector and to ensure that India need not depend on other countries for its defence needs.
