Performance Review of institutions

The Ministry reviews the performance of all institution on a regular basis. The R&D wing of CIPET – SARP: LARPM, Bhubaneswar has been developing fertilizer    incorporated    biodegradable mulching    films    for agricultural applications. The films have   the capability of sustained release of the fertilizers to promote growth of the plants. Additionally, the Laboratory has also signed MoU with ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai wherein Nano Sulphur / Zno based fertilizers are being incorporated within the bio-polymeric system to evaluate its efficiency in growth rate of plants and production from farming.

Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology(IPFT), Gurugram, an autonomous institute under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India is engaged in development of user &environment friendly new generation formulation of pesticides. The institute has state-of-the art Laboratories accredited by NABL for the testing of Pesticides(Technical & Formulations), Pesticide residues in various food matrices and CWC related chemicals. The institute is also engaged in test of Rock Phosphate samples provided by the Department of Fertilizer, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers and other fertilizers including nano-fertilizers for physio-chemical parameters.

As of now, 04 new CIPET Centres at Barmar (Rajasthan), Bhavnagar(Gujarat), Bidar (Karnataka)   and Thootukudi (Tamil Nadu) are proposed to be established with the approval of Administrative Ministry and the cost of the project will be borne between Govt. of India   and   respective   State Governments on 50:50 sharing basis.

The Ministry has set up seven National Institutes of Pharmaceuticals Education and Research (NIPER) at Mohali (Punjab), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Hajipur (Bihar), Hyderabad (Telangana), Guwahati (Assam), Kolkata (West Bengal), and Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh) to nurture and promote quality and excellence in the pharmaceutical education and research in India. These are institutes of national importance, which besides imparting master’s and doctorate education conduct high end research in various specializations in field of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

The information was given by the Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri Bhagwanth Khuba in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
