Commencement of the Four-laning work of Outer Ring Road of Nagpur Katol Road to the end of Katol Bypass by Nitin Gadkari

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today expressed confidence that the Broad Gauge Railway Project has received all the permissions and its work will be completed within a year and the distance from Katol to Nagpur can be covered in just 15 to 20 minutes and Katol will be known as the ‘satellite city’ of Nagpur. by Nitin Gadkari was speaking at the ceremony organised for the Commencement of the four-laning of National Highway Authority's National Highway 353 JK Nagpur Katol Road from Outer Ring Road to the end of Katol Bypass   at Katol today. Ramtek MP Kripal Tumane, MLA Ashish Jaiswal, Katol mayor Vaishali Thakur were present on the occasion.

 Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said that the four- laning work of the Nagpur-Katol road has been started by removing the related issue of forest department's permission and many other. A total of Rs 1,184 crore has been allocated for the work in the project and the length of the road is 48.20 km. The four-laning of the road also includes construction of one-way flyovers at both ends of Katol bypass and Kalmeshwar bypass . Therefore, the traffic to Kalmeshwar and Katol will be safe and convenient. Work on the ring road near Nagpur will also begin near Fetari, he said. 

 This road will improve the connectivity of Nagpur city with Katol and Warud tehsils and will facilitate the transportation of local products to the market. The road has 5 flyovers and 13 underpasses, which will save time and fuel as well as help in controlling the pollution.

 Gadkari mentioned that Katol Municipal Council has made a name for itself in the top 5 municipalities in the state. Facilities like Competitive Examination Guidance Centre ,Swimming Pool provided by Katol Municipal Council are providing good facilities to the students here, this is contributing to the educational, socio-economic and cultural development of Katol.

 Construction of railway flyover at Khapri, construction of flyover at Liberty Cinema to Mental Hospital, construction of multi-lane road from Automotive Chowk to Kanhan and construction of flyover at Radisson Blu Hotel to Pride Hotel have been completed by National Highways Authority. The length of all these development works is 87.97 kms at a cost of Rs. 2,943 crore.

 Apart from this in the works in progress by National Highways Authority-NHAI in Nagpur district includes  Four-laning of Nagpur-Umred road, four-laning of Savner to Dhapewada road, construction of Nagpur Outer Ring Road Part 1 and 2, construction of Pardi bridge, construction of flyover at Gaddigodam to Kadbi Chowk,Construction of intermodal station at Ajni is proposed. Detailed project report-DPR of construction of flyover from Indora Chowk to Pachpavli to Sheetala Mata Chowk, six laning of Nagpur Bhandara road is also in final stage.

 

 The event was attended by local people's representatives, citizens, and officials of National Highways Authority.
