Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has added another Feather to the crown of Department of Posts by launching India Post Payment Bank on September 1, 2018. The bank has been set up with the vision to build the most accessible, affordable and trusted bank for the common man in India. The fundamental mandate of IPPB is to remove barriers for the unbanked and underbanked and reached the last mile leveraging a network comprising 155,000 post offices (1,35,000 in rural areas) and 3,00,000 postal employees.

Department of Post’s services like deposit in Recurring account, saving account, Public Provident Fund account and also Loan against Recurring Deposit facility can be availed through IPPB smoothly. Various types of bills like Fuel, Gas, Electricity, Water bill, Insurance premium and Mobile, DTH and Fastag can be recharged through IPPB.

India Post Payment Bank has launched service for updating and change of mobile number in Adhar, which can be utilized by the Postman/Gramin Dak Sevaks equipped with smartphones and biometric devices at your door step. This facility is part of Child Enrolment Lite Client (CELC) application developed by UIDAI. By updating mobile number in Aadhar, beneficially identification can be facilitated for various services such as registering for government PDS/DBT schemes, getting ration under one nation one ration card scheme, KYC for new mobile Sim connections, updating demographic details online, accessing RTO services for driving licence, verifying income tax returns, information on EPFO services and many more.
