Enhanced allocation to NGOs for building cultural halls

Keeping in view the increased number of applications from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for grants for construction of building for cultural halls, the Government are projecting enhancement of funds in the budget allocation to Rs. 450 lakhs for year 2004-05 and Rs. 500 lakhs for 2005-06. 76 NGOs were given grants during 2004-05 and 40 in 2003-04
