The Government has approved the project on the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) to be undertaken with the assistance

The Government has approved the project on the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) to be undertaken with the assistance from the World Bank. The project includes hazard line mapping along the coastal areas, institutional strengthening and capacity building in the areas of coastal management and initiating pilot ICZM projects in the States of Gujarat, Orissa, and West Bengal.

 

             The total cost of the project is Rs.1155.63 crores.  The budget breakups of the project are as follows:-

 

(i)         World Bank contribution                                               :           77.7%

(ii)        The Government of India’s share                                   :           15.4%

(iii)    Contribution of the State Governments of

                          Gujarat, Orissa, and West Bengal                   :            6.9%
