The UPSC has announced the result of the Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) Examination held in July 2009. The following is the list, in order of merit, of  45 candidates including  24 General, 13 Other Backward Classes,  6 Scheduled Castes, and  2  Scheduled Tribes, who have been recommended by the Union Public Service Commission for appointment as Special Class Railway Apprentices’ in the Indian Railways  Service of Mechanical Engineers. The medical examination shall be conducted by the Ministry of Railways.  A communication for medical examination will be issued by the Ministry of Railways to the candidates individually within 21 days from the date of declaration of final result. The number of vacancies as intimated by the Railway Board is  45
