Shri Pawar receives Doctoral Degree from Lawrence Tech University
Union Minister for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Sharad Pawar has been awarded an honorary doctoral degree by Lawrence Tech University in Detroit, USA.
The citation honoring the degree of Doctor of Humanities to Shri Sharad Pawar reads as follows: -
“ As a visionary leader of government, commerce, and education, you have served the constituents of your state and nation with distinction, and inspired your colleagues to ever greater levels of effective accomplishment and service.
“ Your efforts to improve educational opportunity, strengthen productivity, and secure India’s future as part of the global community are widely admired. In attaining these many accomplishments, you have been particularly successful in building consensus, encouraging others to reach beyond the present, and convincing them of the value and promise of your vision. You have been a firm proponent of the notion that for nations and our world to thrive, we need ever new generations of young people who appreciate and understand science and technology.
“Throughout your extensive career in public service, you have been a generous and compassionate advocate for those who, often, could not be heard. Your leadership in assuring community participation and women’s rights is helping to forge an India that is ever more compassionate and more inclusive. Such achievements demonstrate not only a seriousness of purpose but a profound understanding of the institutions of government and their hallowed traditions of representation and societal progress.
“Many are your monuments. But any measure - scholastic achievement, research, innovative partnerships with industries and communities, compassionate and timely response to tragedies and misfortunes - you have created an environment where challenges to conventional thinking are not only encouraged but celebrated.
“In recognition of your distinguished achievements in public service and your devotion to the citizens of your state, nation, and world, Lawrence Technological University is proud to grant this degree, honoris causa, with all the rights, privileges, and honors thereunto pertaining.”
