Justice Lokeshwar Singh Panta to be Supreme Court Judge
The President has appointed Shri Justice Lokeshwar Singh Panta, Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
Born on April 23, 1944 Shri Justice Lokeshwar Singh Panta, a law graduate, practised as an advocate in the Himachal Pradesh High Court from 1970. He was appointed as Deputy Advocate General, Himachal Pradesh, on February 28, 1980. Shri Justice Lokeshwar Singh Panta was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court on August 20, 1991 and a permanent Judge on July 28, 1995.
