Ministry denies news item on Personal Income Tax
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has described as incorrect a news item published in an economic daily today which states that the Commerce Ministry has proposed changes in the personal income tax in its pre-Budget proposals to the Finance Ministry. The news item is totally incorrect. Denying the report, Commerce Ministry has said that although it has forwarded several proposals to the Ministry of Finance as a pre-Budget exercise, it has not sent any proposal regarding personal income tax.
