Kodo-Kutki Millets will be included in Minimum Support Price system: Shri Chauhan
Kodo- Kutki Millets MSP will be Rs 4290 per quintal, same as Ragi: Union Minister
Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today held a meeting with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi. A range of issues related to agriculture and rural development in Madhya Pradesh came up during the discussions. Madhya Pradesh CM demanded that Kodo-Kutki Millets be covered under Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh announced that the Kodo-Kutki Millets will be included in MSP and the MSP of Kodo-Kutki Millets will be same as of Ragi Millet which is Rs 4290 per quintal.

Shri Chouhan also stressed that Madhya Pradesh has huge potential under ‘Per Drop, More Crop’ scheme and assured that his Ministry will consider the proposals as per guidelines. Shri Singh said that issues related to GI tag to Sharbati wheat and Basmati rice will be sorted out soon. Union Minister assured the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister that the issues related to MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna will be sorted out as per the guidelines of the scheme. Shri Chouhan assured that both the Ministries under him i.e Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development will provide full support for the development of the Madhya Pradesh. Secretary Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Manoj Ahuja, Secretary, Rural Development Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh and senior officers of the both Ministry were also present.
