NDRF TRAINING
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is a multi-skilled and highly specialist force capable of dealing with all types of natural and man-made disasters like Floods, Cyclone, Earthquakes, Landslides, Building-collapse, Trains and road accidents, Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) emergencies , forest fire, etc. NDRF Battalions are trained and equipped with latest state-of-the-art equipments and are capable of carrying-out disaster response operations within the country and internationally. NDRF teams are pre-positioned and deployed every year during the onset of South west monsoon and on any impending disaster in consultation with the concerned state governments.

NDRF conducts various types of training in Disaster Management for State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Six different types of Disaster Management courses are run by NDRF for SDRF including Training of Trainers (ToT), Master Trainers (MT), ToT Cadre and Borewell Course. NDRF is also conducting Basic & Advanced Disaster Management (DM) training for SDRF. NDRF have trained 9691 personnel in Basic Disaster Management training & 2677 personnel in Advance Disaster Management training from 2018 till the date. 18 Courses have been planned for SDRF for 2024.The Government of India has notified the establishment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Academy at
Nagpur as a premier institute to impart high class training to NDRF and SDRF personnels, Civil Defence Volunteers and disaster response personnel of SAARC countries in disaster management. The Academy conducts courses for Training of Trainers (ToT) and Master Trainers (MT) in the areas of Collapsed Structure Search & Rescue (CSSR), Medical First Responder (MFR), Flood Rescue, Deep Diving, Landslide, Mountain Rescue and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Emergencies to the personnel of NDRF, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other stakeholders.
Government is providing all support and assistance to NDRF for upgrading the force capability by providing requisite approvals for purchase of state of art equipments and machinery, from time to time. Upgradation of NDRF with latest equipments is a continuous process.
