Supplementary Resources
Sanitation and Drinking Water are the State subjects. To supplement the efforts of the State Governments for improving overall cleanliness and providing drinking water supply in villages, Government of India through the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) [SBM(G)] which was launched in 2014 for a period of 5 years and 2nd Phase of which is now under implementation from 2020-21, and the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) which has been launched in August 2019, both Centrally Sponsored Schemes, provides financial and technical support to the States/UTs. State/UT-wise details of funds released by the Government of India under SBM(G) from 2018-19 to 2021-22 and under JJM from 2019-20 to 2021-22, are given at Annexure-I and Annexure-II respectively. There have been no shortage of Central share funds under both the programmes.
This Information was given by the Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
