Introducing / Revising Of Skill Development Courses

Ministry is implementing special programme, 'Customized Crash Course Programme for COVID Warriors (CCCP for CW)' with the aim to train about one lakh COVID warriors. The objectives of CCCP for CW are to meet the upsurge in demand of skilled healthcare workers, reduce the burden of healthcare professionals and provide timely healthcare services in the country. The training is being imparted in six customized healthcare-related job roles namely Basic Care Support, Home Care Support, Advanced Care Support, Sample Collection Support, Emergency Care Support and Medical Equipment Support.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of the Ministry has promoted online skilling through eSkill India portal during the pandemic induced lockdown. This e-learning aggregator portal offers online skill training on a variety of sectors and modules covering sectors namely; Information Technology, Electronics, Retail, Construction, Automotive, Plumbing, Healthcare, Media, Telecom etc. Over 1500 e-courses have been catalogued in eSkill India and most of these courses are free. The courses spread across sectors, languages and domains. The enrolment of candidates for various e-courses in eSkill India Portal is around 20 lakhs.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
