Under Jal Jeevan Mission, powers to plan, approve and implement water supply schemes are vested in States/ UTs and ‘Operational Guidelines for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission’ has been made available. As per the guidelines, the type of material to be used under different terrain/ conditions should be as per recommendations for such conditions, as the case may be, and amended from time to time, by the Central Public Health & Environmental Engineering Organization (CPHEEO).

       Since power to implement water supply schemes are vested with States/ UTs including designing, selection of material, cost analysis, preparation of estimates, tendering, etc., such exercise is not taken up by this Department.
