“Baandhon” is a human statement against terrorism: Jahnu Barua

The Assamese film directed by Jahnu Barua is a human statement against terror on behalf of the common men of the entire world. Baandhan is also a question to all the leaders of the world as to what was done to deserve such pain of uncertainty. Briefing the media here, Barua said that people have accepted and applauded the human statement made by this movie. Though based on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Barua said, there was no need to show visuals of violence. He said that it was a mere co-incidence that the only surviving terrorist of the Mumbai attack Ajmal Kasab was hanged yesterday, when his film was screened as the opening film of Indian Panorama in the feature section.

Jatin Bora, Bishnu Kharghoria, Zerifa Wahid and Bina Potongia starrer film narrates the story of Dandeswar and Hkawni, both seventy-three years old, arrive in Mumbai to look for their beloved grandson-the only other living member of the family who has been missing since the 26/11/2008 terror attack. The film was produced by Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Limited and it was selected by the IFFI jury from a list of 300 odd entries.
