International Crude Oil Prices of Indian Basket Increases on 21.9.2012 to US$ 109.20/BBL

The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas increased sharply to US$ 109.20/barrel (bbl) on 21.9.2012. The price was higher than US$ 106.74/bbl on 20.09.2012, the last trading day.

 

In rupee terms also, the crude oil price went up to Rs 5886.97 per bbl on 21.09.2012 from Rs 5800.25 per bbl on 20.09.2012. This was due to rise in prices in dollar terms though moderated by rupee appreciation. The rupee-dollar exchange rate on 21.09.2012 was at Rs 53.91/US$ against Rs 54.34/US$ on 20.09.2012.
