The
Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has a well planned vessel acquisition programme which is prepared based on the need for the
vessels either for replacement of the existing vessels or for augmentation of
the SCI fleet. The details of vessels
ordered by SCI during last three years (2009-10 to 2011-12) are as under:
