The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as
computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC)
under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas increased further to US$ 97.99/barrel
(bbl) on 12.7.2012.The price was higher than US$ 97.46/bbl prevailing on
the previous trading day of 11.7.2012.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price increased to Rs 5458.04
per bbl on 12.07.2012 from Rs 5396.36
per bbl on 11.07.2012. This was due to price increase in dollar terms
and rupee depreciation with rupee-dollar exchange rate on 12.07.2012 at Rs 55.70/US$ against Rs 55.37/US$ on 11.07.2012.
