The
Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises facilitates promotion of new
enterprises through implementation of various schemes/programmes
relating to credit, infrastructure development, technology up-gradation,
marketing and Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes
in the country including North- Eastern Region leading to more employment
generation. Some schemes/programmes have special
privilege for women entrepreneurs. Setting up of enterprises is a continuous
process.
As per the Final Report of the
Fourth All India Census of Registered MSMEs, conducted with reference year
2006-07 wherein data was collected till 2009 and result published in 2011, the
state wise information relating to North- Eastern Region in respect of number
of enterprises, total employment & employment of women is:
