DRDO’s Participation in 26th Indian Engineering Congress 2011
DRDO (Defence Research Development Organisation) provided a glimpse of its strength in the field of engineering as related to key defence technologies at the “26th Indian Engineering Congress (IEC-2011)” that was inaugurated by Sh.D.V. SadanandaGowda, Chief Minister of Karnataka, at Bangalore Palace Grounds today. The theme of the 26th Indian Engineering Congress being organised by the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) is “Towards Prosperous India : Challenges for Engineers”

Dr V.K. Saraswat Scientific Advisor to RakshaMantri, Secretary, Defence R&D and DG DRDO will deliver the 37thBhaikaka Memorial lecture tomorrow, while Dr V. BhujangaRao, Chief Controller R&D, will give a talk on “Engineering Challenges for Economic Growth” on the same day.

The technologies on display at the exhibition will cover areas such as aeronautics, armaments, communication, combat engineering, missiles, materials, microwave technologies, etc. DRDO’s participation in the exhibition will include exhibits from labs such as DMSRDE – Kanpur, ADRDE – Agra, DEAL – Dehradun, RCI – Hyderabad, ADE, ADA, CAIR, MTRDC, GTRE from Bangalore & R&D Engineers – Pune.
