The Minister for Culture and Housing & Urban Poverty
Alleviation Kumari Selja has said that conservation work of the monuments is a
continuous process. The conservation work
of 202 protected monuments in Gujarat is attended regularly depending upon the
need of the repairs and availability of resources.
In a written reply in the Rajya
Sabha today she said, the
details of expenditure incurred during the last three years and allocation for
the current financial years, for conservation of monument in Gujarat, are as
under:

She said,
the monuments at Parnera hills in Valsad
district are not the protected monuments of Archaeological Survey of India
(ASI). However, ASI has visited the site
in recent past and found the old structures in ruins with vegetation growth and
heavy modern interventions. As such there is no renovation project for the
site.
