Railway Revenue Earnings up by 7.18 per cent during April- November 2010
The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during 1st April – 30th November 2010 were Rs. 59804.93 Crore compared to Rs. 55797.81 Crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 7.18 per cent.

The total goods earnings have gone up from Rs. 37509.81 crore during 1st April – 30th November, 2009 to Rs. 39696.71 Crore during 1st April – 30th November 2010, showing an increase of 5.83 per cent.

The total passenger revenue earnings during the first eight months of the financial year 2010-11 were Rs. 17077.19 crore compared to Rs. 15608.81 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 9.41 per cent.

The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs. 1666.75 crore during April- November 2010 compared to Rs. 1501.71 crore during the same period last year, showing an increase of 10.99 per cent.

The total approximate number of passengers booked during April-November 2010 was 5235.84 million compared to 4939.70 million during the same period last year, showing an increase of 6.00 per cent. In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the number of passengers booked during April-November 2010 was 2676.22 million and 2559.62 million compared to 2537.11 million and 2180.94 million during the same period last year, showing an increase of 5.48 per cent and 6.54 per cent respectively.
