Peripheral Development in Mining Areas

The Minister of Mines and Development of North Eastern Region Shri B.K. Handique has said, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has informed that the provisions made by the Company for peripheral development activities during each of the last three years and the current year and expenditures for these years are as under:-

#        NALCO has also informed that no utilization certificates have been received from the Rehabilitation & Periphery Development Advisory Committees (RPDACs) constituted by the State Government of Orissa for Angul for the years 2009-10 and 2010-11 and for Damanjiodi 2010-11.

 

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today he said, the peripheral development activities of the Company mostly cover the peripheral villages of Smelter and Power Complex, Angul and Mines & Refinery Complex, Damanjodi and the District head quarters of Angul and Koraput. Peripheral development activities were also undertaken by NALCO in other places in Orissa including Bhubaneswar for which the following expenditure were incurred by the Company during the last three years and for the current year:-
