Bandini Brings Alive the Memories of the Golden Era of Ashok Kumar
The Centenaries at IFFI 2010 began with the featuring of Bandini, the film of legendry actor Ashok Kumar. On the occasion were present Shri Amit Kumar, son of the late eminent singer and actor Kishore Kumar and Ms. Anuradha Patel, Granddaughter of the late Ashok Kumar. Centenaries of five unforgettable cinema talents – Ashok Kumar, B.R. Panthulu, Motilal, Nadia and Raja Paranjpe– are also being observed by screening their films.

The enduring screen legend Ashok Kumar, was not only a gifted actor but also an accomplished painter and the homeopathic practitioner. At the Press Conference, held at the Media Centre here today, Shri Amit Kumar mentioned that their family proposed to hold a series of events to observe the golden era and centenary of Ashok Kumar. Remembering her grandfather, Ms. Patel informed the Press persons that a fresh biography on the late Ashok Kumar is in the offing. She also mentioned as part of the centenary celebrations a special music concert by his nephews Shri Amit Kumar and Shri Sumit Kumar, sons of the gifted singer Kishore Kumar will be organized. The concert would be a tribute by them to their late uncle who was the original Rap singer.
