The 48.823 km long Khemkaran town- Start of Amritsar bypass is part of Border Roads designated to NHAI under Bharatmala scheme. The objective of this work is to provide good road network access and undertake development of border areas. The project comprises of development of 13.138 km of project length to 4-lane and 35.685 km to 2-lane with paved shoulder with flexible pavement. The contract period is 550 days including O&M period of 4 years. The project will have 1 major bridge, 6 minor bridges, and facility of 18 nos. of bus bays & Shelters.
