Revision of Policy Towards Heavy Industries

Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion has informed the list of items reserved for the Public Sector is reviewed from time to time depending upon the overall economic and strategic requirement of the country

 

Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion has informed the list of items reserved for the Public Sector is reviewed from time to time depending upon the overall economic and strategic requirement of the country.  The existing list of industries reserved for the public sector is given below:-

LIST OF INDUSTRIES RESERVED FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR

 

1.                  Atomic Energy (Production, Separation or enrichment of special fissionable materials and substances and operation of the facilities)*

 

*Notification  No. S.O. 2630(E) dated 19.10.2009 of Deptt. of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India.

2.      Railway operations other than construction, operation and maintenance of the following:**

 

(i)   Suburban corridor projects through PPP, (ii) High speed train project, (iii) dedicated freight lines, (iv) Rolling stock including train sets, and locomotives/coaches manufacturing and maintenance facilities, (v) Railway Electrification, (vi)signaling systems, (vii) freight terminals, (viii) Passenger terminals, (ix) infrastructure in industrial park pertaining to railway line/sidings including electrified railway lines and connectivity to main railway lines and (x) Mass Rapid Transport systems.
