Upgradation of Industries for Energy Efficiency
So far as Department of Heavy Industry (DHI) is concerned, the Department has always supported green and efficient energy initiatives. However, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) have informed that they are implementing a Scheme under National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme (NMCP) in the name of “Technology and Quality Upgradation support to MSME (TEQUP)”. Under TEQUP scheme, Government is providing financial assistance to MSMEs for implementation of energy efficient technology (EET). Since inception of the scheme, till date, 209 nos. of MSME units have been benefitted for implementation of EET activity of TEQUP scheme.
This information was given by Minister of State in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Shri G.M. Siddeshwara in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
