125th Birth Anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar
The Ministry for Social Justice & Empowerment is commemorating the 125th Birth Anniversary year of Dr. Babasaheb B. R. Ambedkar w.e.f. 14th April, 2015 to 14 April, 2016. The Government has established a National Committee under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister to provide guidelines, advice and decision to the yearlong celebration in a befitting manner.
The Chaitanya Bhumi is already under the possession of the State Government of Maharashtra. The adjoining land of Indu Mill has been transferred to the State of Maharashtra for building a Memorial of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
The Government of Maharashtra has purchased the house at 10, King Henry road in London, where Dr. Ambedkar completed his higher studies.
