Jain Community
Central Government has notified Jains as Minority Community under Section 2(c) of National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992 vide Gazette Notification dated 27-01-2014. The same was communicated to all concerned including the State Governments/UT Administrations. As such the Ministry of Minority Affairs is not issuing minority certificates to any Organizations/Institutions or individuals.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in Lok Sabha today.
