Financial Assistance for Statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture & Tourism Shri Shripad Yesso Naik has said that the State Government of Gujarat has envisaged building a statue of Sardar Patel near the Narmada Dam at Kevadia colony, as a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, in the year of Golden Jubilee Celebration of the State’s foundation.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today he said, as per information received from the State Government of Gujarat, adequate provision for budgetary support for the project, proportionate to the project preparations have been made in the years 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15.
He said, the State Government has sent a proposal to treat the project as a National Project and also to provide financial assistance. A budget allocation of Rs. 200 crore has been made to the Ministry of Culture for this purpose during the current financial year.
