Infrastructure available to NADA to undertake doping tests

The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Sarbananda Sonowal has said that National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) became operational from 1st January 2009. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today he said, in the year 2009, NADA has collected more than 2500 dope samples of athletes which has been increased to 4400 in 2013. All the dope samples collected by NADA are tested by National Dope Testing Laboratory, New Delhi which is established for the purpose of dope sample testing in the country. The laboratory is accredited by World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) and well equipped to carry out more than 5000 dope test in year.
