Restoration of Red Fort
The Minister of Culture Smt. Chandresh Kumari Katoch has said that Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is taking adequate care for conservation, preservation and environmental development of ‘Red Fort’ within the available resources. Besides this, an international workshop was held at Red Fort in October, 2013 wherein the experts suggested methodologies and advice for over all conservation and management of the monument.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today Smt. Katoch said, as per the recommendations in Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan of Red Fort some of the modern structures in the Fort Complex have been removed. For few others, identification and removal process including restoration of original features is in progress. The conservation/restoration work, being a continuous process, the requisite funds are provided as per the availability of resources.
