Giant Leap towards Inclusivity and Empowerment: Foundation Stone Laid for CRC-Chhatarpur's New Building in Madhya Pradesh
In a momentous occasion that signifies a giant leap toward inclusivity and empowerment, the foundation stone was laid for the new building of the Composite Regional Center (CRC)-Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. This historic event took place today following a traditional bhoomi poojan ceremony. The ceremony was held at Ward No. 17, Near Model Basic School, Durga Colony, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The prestigious ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the Union Cabinet Minister for the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJ&E), Dr. Virendra Kumar, the Joint Secretary of MSJ&E, Shri Rajesh Kumar Yadav IAS, the Joint Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, MSJ&E, Shri Rajeev Sharma IFS, the Director of the National Institute of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, MSJ&E – Govt of India, Shri Vineet Singhal IRES, and the District Collector, Shri Sandeep G. R., IAS.
Speaking at the inaugural function of CRC-Chhatarpur Union Cabinet Minister for the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJ&E), Dr. Virendra Kumar, said that it is yet another pioneering initiative under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through skill development, rehabilitation services, and inclusive community programs and will be completed within 18 months under the construction by National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC). The new building for CRC-Chhatarpur is poised to receive a brand-new, state-of-the-art structure, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC). This upcoming structure boasts an expansive area of 41,275 square feet and will be designed to offer a barrier-free environment that caters to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
The estimated construction cost for this visionary project is 25 crores, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been linked with NBCC to initiate construction promptly. In addition to laying the foundation stone for CRC-Chhatarpur's new building, Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar also laid the foundation for the sensory park in Chhatarpur, costing 9 crores, and inaugurated the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, further strengthening the commitment to the welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities in Chhatarpur District, Madhya Pradesh.
Union Cabinet Minister for the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJ&E), Dr. Virendra Kumar, also appreciated the continued efforts of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, under the leader ship of Shri Rajesh Aggarwal IAS, Secretary Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJ&E) and Shri Rajesh Kumar Yadav IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Dr. Raju Arakh Director of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) AYJNISHD(D), Mumbai.Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) AYJNISHD(D), Mumbai, under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, MSJ&E, Govt. of India, holds administrative control over CRC-Chhatarpur. The new building of CRC-Chhatarpur will complement the existing CRCs in Bhopal, Nagpur, and Ahmedabad, reinforcing the commitment of the Government of India to the welfare and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
