Nehru Yuva Kendra South Kolkata under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organised the Yuva Utsav in a grand manner, with the theme – ‘Sense of Duty among the Citizens’ today at National Library.
The major objective of the event was to celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in the spirit of Yuva Shakti, spreading the ideals and values of India’s Freedom Struggle during on attaining 75th anniversary of India’s independence and generating appreciation about the diverse spiritual and cultural heritage of country among the masses through various contests like Young Artists Camp, Young Writers Camp, Photography Workshop, Declamation Contest, Cultural Festival and Youth Convention.
More than 300 youths took part in the event and was graced by the Member of Parliament, Smt. Locket Chatterjee, former Member of Parliament, Rajyasabha, Shri. Swapan Dasgupta, the legendary Indian Magician Shri. P. C. Sorcar Jr., Shri. Barjeet Singh, second in command, Senior Instructor, ITS SSB, Kolkata, Shri. Ravi Shankar, Deputy Commandant, ITS SSB Kolkata, Shri. Mrityunjay Mandal, eminent artist and many other distinguished guests.
Cash prizes and certificates were distributed to all the winners of the competition.
