For monitoring the execution of works funded by it, consultants with background of Managerial Economics, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering are engaged by NEC. Also, Chief Engineer, Director and Joint Director level officers from NER had also been engaged for Regional Level Monitoring.
Moreover, third-party evaluation for the “Schemes of NEC” and North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS) had been conducted by the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad for the period from 2017-18 to 2019-20. The evaluator found the Schemes of NEC very effective for the speedy and holistic development of NER as majority of the ongoing projects are delivering or will deliver the intended and planned results/objectives. Their report stated that the schemes of NEC are critical for funding projects in identified sectors for bringing the North Eastern Region at par with rest of the country, in terms of development and infrastructure.
