To commemorate the 75 years of Independence and 125 years Birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Department of Posts, West Bengal Circle, is organizing 2 days Special Event Jai Hind PEX 2021. This 2 days Philatelic Exhibition is held at Rotunda Hall, Kolkata GPO.
Sri P. K. Bisoi, Secretary of Department of Posts today inaugurated the exhibition. Sri Mervin Alexander, Chief Postmaster General, West Bengal Circle and other eminent philatelists and Stamp collectors were present at the programme.
In the exhibition, Golden replica of Jai Hind Stamp was released. It was originally released in 1947. Moreover, Department of Post took a pertinent initiative to recognize the year-long traditional selfless services being offered by the Honey and Bee-wax collectors of Sundarbans by the way of releasing of the Special Cover on “Honey & Bee Wax Collections of Sundarbans”. To popularize Philately& to share the views of the eminent, as well as the growing youth philatelists, a unique platform, namely Kolkata Philatelic Club, has been inaugurated amidst a Grand Philatelic Exhibition, with a vast collection of Philatelic Stamps at Kolkata GPO.
The exhibition will be held till tomorrow.
