Transport Ministry Issues Draft Notification Regarding Retro-Fitment of Electric Kit to Motor Vehicles
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has invited objections and suggestions from general public on proposed amendments to Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 regarding retro fitment of electric kits to motor vehicles vide notification dated 7th August 2018. As per the draft amendment retro-fitment of Hybrid Electric System Kit to motor vehicles or conversion of motor vehicles for pure electric operation with fitment of Pure Electric System Kit shall conform to the requirements of provisions given in applicable standards as described below.

Note.- * AIS-123 Part 1 or 2 or 3 as applicable, shall be applicable as amended from time to time till such time as corresponding Bureau of Indian Standard specifications are notified under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
