The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED), functioning under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, through its Regional Office, Raipur, is organizing a grand national-level tribal festival, “Aadi Bazaar 2026,” from 24 October to 2 November 2026 at Town Hall, Collectorate Parisar, near Ghadi Chowk, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The primary objective of the event is to promote India’s rich tribal art, culture, traditional handicrafts, and diverse livelihood practices while providing tribal artisans with a direct marketing platform to showcase and sell authentic handcrafted products.

The inauguration ceremony of Aadi Bazaar 2026 is proposed to be graced by Shri Ramvichar Netam, Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Minority Development, Government of Chhattisgarh, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony is also proposed to be attended by distinguished guests including Smt. Meenal Choubey, Mayor, Raipur Municipal Corporation, and Smt. Sanjita Gupta, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) and Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Federation Limited.

The 10-day exhibition-cum-sale will feature approximately 40 stalls representing around 80 tribal artisans and craftspeople from across India. Visitors will have direct access to traditional handicrafts, handloom products, textiles, traditional jewellery, paintings, and natural organic items. Key regional craft attractions at the venue will include Kosa silk textiles and Dhokra metal craft from Chhattisgarh; Sambalpuri sarees and Saura paintings from Odisha; Bagh-print sarees, Maheshwari sarees, and Gond paintings from Madhya Pradesh; Kantha-embroidered sarees and traditional jewellery from West Bengal; traditional textiles and jewellery from Rajasthan; jute products and tribal jewellery from Jharkhand; cane and bamboo handicrafts from the Northeastern states; bamboo crafts and handmade utility products from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand; and Araku Coffee along with other distinct artisanal specialties.

By facilitating direct interaction between tribal craftspeople and consumers, Aadi Bazaar aims to eliminate intermediaries, enhance product visibility, encourage tribal entrepreneurship, and strengthen local economies. TRIFED invites citizens and heritage enthusiasts to visit the exhibition at Town Hall, Collectorate Parisar, near Ghadi Chowk, Raipur from 24 October to 2 November 2026 to support indigenous craftspeople and contribute toward the preservation of India’s vibrant tribal traditions.
