Diwali is a time for joy, togetherness and sharing. For families whose loved ones live abroad, sending traditional Diwali Faral is a special way to share the flavours of Maharashtra and stay connected with family and friends across borders.
To make this festive tradition easier and more affordable, the Maharashtra Postal Circle has launched an initiative encouraging citizens to send Diwali Faral and festive gifts overseas through India Post’s International Parcel Service at economical rates. The initiative has received an encouraging response from citizens.

Shri Ramchandra Jaybhaye, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Postal Circle, expressed his gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for their enthusiastic response and extended his warm wishes for a happy and prosperous Diwali. Convenient Packaging at Post Offices
To make the process hassle-free, the Department of Posts provides packaging facilities at General Post Offices (GPOs), Head Post Offices and designated post offices across Maharashtra. Special equipment has been installed at major post offices, including the GPOs and Head Post Offices, to speed up the packing of snack boxes and other items. This allows customers to get their Faral and gifts packed securely within minutes for dispatch to international destinations.

Free Home Collection Facility
Citizens who cannot visit a post office due to their busy schedules can also avail themselves of the free home collection facility offered by the Maharashtra Postal Circle. Postmen will collect parcels from customers’ homes, making it easier to send festive gifts without stepping out.
For assistance, citizens can contact the following officials between 8 am and 8 pm:
Mumbai Region
- Shri Hanmant Chirme, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices: +91 98701 43136
- Shri Vinod Panchal, Marketing Executive: +91 88502 61634
Navi Mumbai Region
- Shri Prakash More, Inspector of Posts: +91 96048 21634
- Shri Sundar Rao, Marketing Executive: +91 96194 53586

Shri Jaybhaye also advised customers to fill in the customs declaration form carefully while booking Diwali Faral parcels. The appropriate HSN code must be mentioned for each item. If other articles, such as clothing, are included in the parcel, their descriptions, HSN codes and values must be declared separately. Correct and complete declarations will help avoid unnecessary delays during customs clearance in the destination country.
The Maharashtra Postal Circle has appealed to citizens to make this Diwali special for their loved ones abroad by sending the traditional flavours of Maharashtra and festive gifts through India Post. With affordable international parcel rates, convenient packaging and free home collection, India Post aims to bring families closer, even across thousands of kilometres.
